![]() In general, they just feel rather mechanized and dull, the primary purpose of expanding throughout the map is for the rewards and the addition to your points as a player. They might be more compelling if they had fictional lore attached to them or even reflected real life ancient territories and thus could also be another space of education for history and social studies. I saw this mentioned by a few of my classmates, but I think it might be interesting if there was more information about the various territories or more interaction with them besides simply just being battle fields. There are some mountain ranges in the middle of the map, but overall, it isn’t particularly big so I wonder if there are other maps you advance to later on or if gameplay and advancement really just becomes that slow. Meanwhile, the remainder of the map which is unexplored is covered in fog. Currently, I’m working conquering the territories of Karchagu and East-Nagach - both of which are fictional. I'm just curious as to why the world map sectors for the Virtual Future almost all involve fighting against lower-age units - sometimes very much lower. In terms of the continent map, I’ve only particularly looked at it in the context of conquering territory but otherwise hadn’t explored it prior to this post. Among other things, the following have been corrected: - We have fixed an issue that caused the wrong icons to displayed on Virtual Future quests. For example, you could put them in the context of our own history, consider how the affect gameplay vs how they may have affected actual society, etc. ![]() I think that if there were any semblance of education to be currently identified within FoE as it is right now, it would be the reflection on these various ages and the technologies within them. There are currently 17 playable technology ages to advance through, many of which increase technologically more or less along the lines of general technological progress as we’ve experienced it historically, and require increasing resources and time to unlock. Space Age Mars (not yet integrated into the game).Virtual Future (the last technology of which costs 300 forge points to research).Oceanic Future (personally excited to not be around if this ever happens, pretty into living on land). The Future (beginning w/ clean energy - promising) This is a story with no clear outcome, as illustrated by a series of vignettes we use to map out divergent futures.Contemporary Era (beginning w/ the internet - interesting). This also means I’ve been using my forge points towards my great building, which means that should hopefully begin to level up and give me a bigger supplies bonus.īecause I can, and it feels worth doing (it probably isn’t but if it wasn’t apparent from the length of all my posts I am extra and enjoy being thorough), I decided to include a list of every single technology age: Currently, I’m stuck in place in the Iron Age because I don’t have enough resources (specific products and supplies) to upgrade to new technologies and enter the Early Middle Ages, but it’s alright. A girl would love to get into the arctic future and virtual age, but I think that would take months and I’m definitely not that invested. Now that I’ve thought more about the lacking story or historical basis and dependence on the freemium model of selling in-game currency for cold hard cash and become generally turned off to FoE, the technology ages are really like the only thing that particularly intrigues or excites me anymore. 3 new military buildings with 3 new unitsĪ completely new campaign map containing 15 provinces with 130 sectors.Y’all, it is the moment I’ve been waiting for (and already been excitedly discussing in most of my Forge of Empires journal posts): technology ages.new production buildings: Holographic research Lab (5×6).new residential buildings: Generational House (4×5).VF goods are the most valuable and will continue to be for a long time, so its best to stay there and loop quests. Most maps and GE can be solved with Rockets or Ronin, so priority is getting Rockets. 5 goods buildings: Cryptocash(7×4), Data Crystals(6×5), Golden Rice(5×6), Nanites(6×5), Tea Silk(4×7) OF is weird, with so many troop variations you usually end up with Eels or Turts or a combo.5 expansions (victory expansion has been already available). With this new Virtual Future era you will get: It will require 3416 forge points and this is how many resources you will need to research all new technologies: In the first part of Virtual Future you will have 15 new technologies to research. Here is newest Technology Tree for Virtual Future Part 1: Forge Of Empire Virtual Future Technology Tree Part 1 It’s definitely not the kind of game that you can finish in one sitting. ![]() Empire-building RTS games like Forge of Empires are often characterized by their remarkable longevity. On July 18th, 2018 the first part of Virtual Future age will be released. You start off with a simple village during the Stone Age era and will gradually progress through the different periods of time until you have reached the virtual future.
